Goals of SIG in 2017:
- Promote best practices, foster new research, and provide a support community to explore the meaning of caring when cure is not expected
- Generate high-quality review articles for The Pain Practitioner and the planned Journal of Integrative Pain Management, to help educate colleagues about palliative care
Focus of meeting:
- Management of symptoms in cancer survivors, who are a different kind of chronic pain patient.
- These patients don’t fit squarely in the hospice bucket or the non-cancer chronic pain bucket.
